Is it true that Michelle Pfiffer was turned down for the role in Evita. Also is it true she was almost kidnapped in Argentina?

Answer
It is reported that Michelle Pfieffer turned down the role because she did not want to work on location...

As far as the kidnapping I do not know whether that occurred or not but I find it unlikely considering the amount of security Madonna has on staff.
