About John Gordon - Master Magician
Expertise
I am a professional performer, and attained status of Gold Star Member of The Inner Magic Circle and, over and above this highest degree, I am only one of 5 perfromers alive who has been awarded their coveted 'Silver Wand'. I perform at the highest level as well as train and coach both beginners and experts in learning a few tricks to creating a brand new award winning act. I ran The Summer School at The Magic Circle for many years as well as booked performers for the monthly public shows. I run a company called `MagicWorks` which provides magic for adult private and corporate events, television, film and theatre productions. I also hold training workshops and seminars, teleconferences and online training on using magic in business, performing at Trade Shows, Magic for Presenters etc and provide after dinner or conference talks and speeches all on the subject of business and personnel development. This includes creativity, presentation, online and offline marketing etc.

Experience
Whilst I have been a performer for many years I now spend an increasing amount of time as a personal and business coach, using magic as a metaphor in my teaching and training sessions. I have several Internet Businesses that include Coaching and Mentoring entertainers in the whole business of self Branding, Promotion, Marketing and filling their diaries with bookings.

Question
How does David Copperfield separates his body with his hands standing up? I heard the inventor was "Steve Fearson" You can watch these 2 videos from others who somehow learned to make the apparatus. At  http://youtube.com/watch?v=vQ1ww6cJN_E   & http://video.yahoo.com/watch/67154  Where can I buy the secret to make my own apparatus?

And

How does Florian Zimmer make that dice levitate while it's spinning in the air as it floats between his hands and makes it dissappears when it lands in his hand? Do you know where he learned how to do that? I'm interested in buying this secret. You can watch the video at http://youtube.com/watch?v=2qauJ29vPT0  (This trick starts at the 2 minute point in the video so you can fastward it there to see what I'm talking about)Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

OK ... public answer:

When David Copperfiled wants to use aneffect on hsi shows he does a number of things:
=> Pays the inventor
=> Purchases rights to use it exclusively on his show
=> Develops it further with hsi advisors

This means you cannot buy that effect anywhere ...although it certainly has its roots in the 10+ year old Fearson Levitation, so Steve may well have developed the extra bits.

I'd also recommed you look at Andrew mayne's 'Pocket Sawing-In-Half' as many of the Coppperfirld techniques are explored here and photographically illustrated and show other situations (ie behind a table ... moving your top half onto the table, and also in a cardboard box). i have it and it's a brilliant creative booklet, as is all of Andrew's work (I have 2 or more others by him).

BTW ... the second video is no longer there!

Florians routine is very easy and is a simple variation of 'The Helicopter Card'. This is mis-titled many things and for all I know is the Impossible Ninja Card of Doom on some rip-off site!!!!!!

Look for 'spinning card' and also The Floating Cigarette for the real work on this.

Don't judge the vanish ... there's a massive camera cut right there! he simply used a pass.
