Question
Tom, I am flying in to Portland October 16. I have a workshop in Rockport on Saturday and Sunday. I am interested in eating lobster and seeing any interesting points between the drive from Portland to Rockport. With only one day, what do you recommend as the high point? What restaurant should we choose in that driving area? Are the leaves in their fall peak?
Thanks so much for your information.

Answer
Hi Claudia,

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.  Freeport, Maine is on your way to Rockport and is the home to LL bean and other outlet stores.  Leaves are just about peak right now so the drive should be a pleasant one.  I am not too fond of suggesting restaurants as I cannot cover the gamut with any degree of reasonableness.  I do know that the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport is excellent but very pricey.  The lobsters are first rate because my stepson is the lobster fisherman who provides them to the restaurant.

Kindest regards,

Tom Webster

PS:  I hope you have your laptop with you and get this on your flight.
