Hi Tom,

We have a week long vacation planned for late July to explore the coast of Maine. We have 4 adults and 2 13 year olds in our party. We will be flying into Boston and driving up. This will be our first time visiting Maine. Once we get there we are thinking about using the Bar Harbor/Arcadia National Park area as our hub for the rest of the week and then making day trips from there. Any recommendations you have on accommodations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark,

I no longer live close to the area, so I am not up to date on accommodations.  May I suggest you contact the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce for recommendations in that regard.  If price is important, you might want to consider staying closer to Ellsworth to keep the cost down.  Accommodations are pretty pricey in July and availability can get scarce, so the sooner you book something, the better off you will be.  Sorry I can't be of more help.
