Question QUESTION: My husband and I are taking a road trip from Minnesota, up into Canada to Quebec, NS, and then down the coast of Maine. We're traveling without an a strict schedule so are not making lodging reservations along the way. We'll probably be in Maine the week of June 17th. Do you anticipate us having any trouble finding lodging (Super 8's, etc are fine)? Is that too early to have good luck doing a Whale Watch trip?
ANSWER: Hi Mary,
I don't anticipate much of a problem with lodging at that time in June.
The best whale watching goes out of Bar Harbor and starts June 11, 2007. I believe they guarantee some sightings or you get your money back, but I'm not positive of that. Check into Bar Harbor Whale Watching for more info.
Be sure to spend a day or two in Acadia National Park.
Kindest regards,
Tom Webster

QUESTION: In finalizing our planning we're trying to find the shortest route toward the beginning of our trip between Quebec and Prince Edward Island- which would be through Maine. But it appears there are few roads except some local roads- Daaquam to Clayton Lake to Ashland etc. Are these good roads and what type of land do they pass through? Time isn't a big factor. Thank you.
Answer Hi Mary,
I'm not sure I can answer this one until I know your starting point in Quebec. I am not that familiar with the northern reaches of Maine as most of it is wilderness. What is your last destination in Quebec before leaving for Prince Edward Island? I will take a stab at it once I know your departure location.
