Question How do you pop the top off on this one. it has plastic type clamps or something holding it together looking at it from the front of the machine. The switch is not engaging when the lid is down..temp fix is i use a pen to engage the switch..but I need to lift the top off so I can do the sw replacement..
On the old Kenmore there was a metallic clip in front of the top section using a spachler I could insert it and it poped open..

Answer the best way to do it, is to not pop the top off, but to tip the entire cabinet forward
remove the screws from the console (2 phillips) flip it up, remove the 2 gold clips (flatblade is the easiest way to pop em out, remove the grounding screw (if applicable) and unplug the wiring harness for the lid switch....thats it , then you can tip the whole works forward!
