Question QUESTION: #1 Problem: Spin Cycle is very loud with large loads, and the plastic ring on top of the steel basket is peeling back and shredding into my large loads (seemed to start with a loud bang on one particular load, as if something gave out -- hasn't been the same since). I can't for the life of me see what it could be hitting during the spin cycle -- nothing seems to come in contact with it at all.
#2 Problem: Sometimes it doesn't spin out at all; just drains and continues to "tick" (dial makes a ticking noise that can only be stopped by unplugging the machine and resetting the load size).
#3 Problem: Slight leaking when I run large, full loads.
Sorry so many questions. I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you!
Janis
ANSWER: Sure sounds like the transmission is bad. Remove the front cover and then run a load....watch the inner tub through the outer tub and while agitating, does the inner tub index slowly or does it go relatively fast?

QUESTION: If by "index" you mean "twist," it goes moderately fast -- I counted 30 times in 10 seconds.
ANSWER: Sounds like the transmission is bad. Comes with the brake package & tub bearing when ordered. This should take care of all your problems. The leaking is caused by the brake slipping and the inner tub spinning while agitating... overflowing the water. If interested, we do sell these items. I can quote you.
