Question HI! Thank you very much for your help - I have a Whirlpool Dishwasher - crud remains on the inside of glasses on the top rack.
Lower rack dishes are clean.
I hand-washed (soaked & scrubbed) EVERY glass I put in there & they come out DIRTY! Pieces of stuff stuck to the inside.
I've done this experiment several times because I couldn't believe it but it's true.
Any help would be appreciated! THANKS!
Janice
Answer Hi Janice
Most likely your upper spray arm is not turning and that is why you dishes are dirty. Try moving the spray arm with your hand. Is it freely moving? Look at the holes in the arm. Are they clogged?
When I check a dishwasher I use a plexi door that lets me see what is happening inside. I know you cant do this put pay attention to the sounds. Does it sound like water is moving around near the top. Try this also...position the arms front to back and turn on the wash cycle. Open the door a minute or so later and see if the arms are in a different position.
We might also need to clean the sump assembly. Let me know your model number and I will tell you how to clean it.
Take care
Frank
