Major Appliances/New Frigidaire Iceamaker Not Working

Question
QUESTION: My Frigidaire icemaker stopped making ice, and from all I read online about it the diagnosis was to purchase and install a new icemaker (kit - $50, part IM115). The install was easy peasy. But it is still not working! I checked the solenoid and the water line all seems fine. If I manually start the gears it does fill the mold with water, but that's where it stops. I can even start to manually help the gears along when the ice is frozen and ready to flip out. But it won't do this process on its own. It has been a week since I installed it, so plenty of time to freeze and cycle. I have triple checked that the cord (?) is plugged in tight to the back of the fridge. What should I try next to figure this out?

ANSWER: You purchased a new ice maker for 50.00?  I cannot even by it for that cost.  If it was used, are you sure it is working.

Next.....put a good and accurate thermometer in the freezer section and after being in there for at least 10 minutes, what is the temperature?

QUESTION: 28 degrees

Answer
That is the problem for the ice maker not working.  Most ice makers will not cycle until they read about 15-17 degrees.  Even though water freezes in your freezer section, the freezer is not cold enough.  Regardless where you have your controls set, the freezer should be at least 5 or 6 degrees and optimally zero degrees.  What is your model number and I will take a closer look at your unit and instruct further....
