Major Appliances/Refrigerator water leak

We have a leak in the tubing that supplies the ice maker and cold water source.  The plastic tubing leaks from cracks in the tubing. We have repaired the leak, twice by removing a section of cracked tubing and used a coupling to connect the tubing. Every time we repair the leak then it cracks and leaks at the coupling again.  We had a repair person come out to repair this problem who did the same coupling repair. That coupling is leaking, two days after the repair.
What do you know about this and what do you recommend?
This is a Kenmore Elite, model number 795.77572600: Serial number 607KR00349. It is a bottom freezer refrigerator.  We bought it in 2006.

Tubing is getting old and all needs to be replaced.  You can purchase both sizes of tubing and simply replace all the tubing that is exposed at the rear where the heat is.  Cutting and splicing is only temporary repair.  Use the least amount of connectors that you must.  Are you using john guess fittings or the plastic screw connection type?

Waiting to hear from you,
Eric and Ann Campion
