Major Appliances/Danby model DFF8200W
The date of manufacture is 09-99.The maker's plate on the back of the fridge has number on the bottom (DA68-00259A) which may be the serial number but it isn't identified as such. The fridge has been working well but recently the it gets warm. The outside back of the fridge feels really cold. The drip pan is completely dry and very warm to the touch. If I unplug the fridge for a couple of days the drip pan fills up and overflows. I empty it and again plug in the fridge which then works fine for about 3 weeks, then the problem repeats. It seems that the freezer ices up in the back and doesn't defrost so no water comes down the drip tube. The entire outside back of the fridge is a sealed metal plate and there seems to be no way to remove the back plastic plate from the inside of the freezer so I cant access the coils to clean them. I can't find a repair manual online so I don't know where to look to check heater and switch operation. Any advice will be appreciated.

You will need to remove all food and shelving from your freezer sectiona and then remove the rear inside panels to gain access to your defrost heater and terminator to check them for continuity. Heater is any temp but terminator must be tested cold. When you have answers, reply and we will suggest further...
Waiting to hear from you,
