please help thankyou.
Answer Hello Jennifer,
The main things that contribute to contribute to blackheads/whiteheads are diet, bacteria and pore-clogging make-up.
1) Diet. Great that you drink lots of water, keep it up. A diet of fried foods or one that's sugar-laden could also be a contributor.
2) Bacteria. Proper cleansing with an exfoliating cleanser twice daily (such as Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub) can make a huge difference. Touching your face excessively (talking with your hand propping up your chin, for instance) will contribute to this problem. And, definitely, you'll want to stop squeezing them as you are carrying bacteria from your hands to your face regularly and depositing it in your open pores, which is no doubt contributing to the problem. Using a product such as Sea Breeze just around your mouth area, twice daily, will help reduce the oiliness you have in that area.
3) Look for non-comedogenic make-up products - they are less likely to cause blackheads (called open comedones) or whiteheads (closed comdedones). Most brands of make-up are non-comedogenic, which means they won't clog your pores. If your skin is prone to acne or especially sensitive, try to find products that are non-comdeogenic, oil-free (water-based), hypoallergenic (unlikely to cause an allergic reaction) and fragrance free. It may be helpful to remove make-up before exercise, as the products can travel across the face through sweat and clog your pores.
