Question Being a man how would I apply cologne so that it does not smell too strong or is so light that nobody knows that I am wearing any?
Answer Hello Murphy,
This is a very interesting question and I hope to offer you a simple solution. From what you write, it looks like you want to wear Cologne, but you don't want people to know you are wearing it. If you were talking about perfumes, I would advise you to choose Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum instead of the concentrated pure perfume. However, with Cologne, the problem is different. First there are many types of Cologne, so I would advise to choose one which is on the lighter side of scale of smell strength. Second, I would advise you to wear it on your wrist, around your waist and on your knees as opposed to putting it on your face and neck. If this is still too much, then you can dilute your bottle of Cologne with distilled water, small batch by small batch to make sure it doesn't get spoiled. Sometimes people's skin react strongly with the perfume or Cologne. In this case, the solution is to spray your clothes instead of your skin.
The truth is that someone with a sensitive sense of smell will always detect the fact that you wear Cologne. But unfortunately, there are not that many of them around. I say unfortunately because this lack of sense of smell lead lots of people to overuse perfume in a nauseating way.
Please let me know if you need more details.
I hope you find this answer helpful.
Have a beautiful day,
Take good care
