Makeup & Skincare - Daily Cleansing Routine

Expert: Miko Choi - 5/3/2009

Question
Hi Miko,
I am an Indian with Combination skin and have been following the Neutrogena cleanser-toner-moisturizer skin care regime for Combination skin for the past 5 months.
1. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment, Power-Foam Wash.
2. Neutrogena Moisture Oil Free Formula, Combination Skin
3. And the Alcohol Free Toner by the same brand.
4. St. Ives Microderm Abrasion Face Scrub.
My skin has become much healthier and cleaner after that. However, the small white/red heads on my forehead refuse to go. Their quantity has definitely reduced, but not less than atleast 9-10.
I don't know what am I doing wrong. Am I not cleaning my face at the right time intervals? Or since am I using the cream at night too, I should not be doing that? Or I do not remove my makeup with anything else, just wash it during my cleansing routine?
Could you help me with what am I doing wrong, if I am?

Thanks a bunch,
Nidhi

Answer
Hello Nidhi,

I'm a bit confused about the order that you use the products.
1. cleanser
2.Scrub
3.toner
4.moisturizer

That should be the correct order that you should be using for your cleansing regime. You do need a make up remover to remove all residue of make up and eye make up prior to using a cleanser to ensure a proper cleansing of your natural skin and not just washing off your make up.

Miko
