Makeup & Skincare - skin glow and treatment for oily skin

Expert: Tyla Smith - 5/14/2009

Question
Hi

How can I make my skin glow, what diet should I take, could you also name some harmless creams for my oily skin? Also please tell how often an oily skin be washed with a face wash and facial scrub.

Thanks

Answer
ok, first things first- for glowing skin.  Make sure to drink plenty of water all day long, stay away from fast food, greasy food, and empty carbohydrates.  Lots of fruit and veggies, whole grains, and avoid sugar.

Now, if your skin is oily it means its dry.  Your skin is producing extra oil to try and moisturize itself.  Find a really good moisturizer without petrolatum or mineral oil in it, one that absorbs into the skin instead of sitting on top of it.  You should only wash once a day with a gentle cleanser for now, one that doesn't strip all the oils out of your skin.  And use a gentle exfoliator to slough dead skin.

This should help, but make sure to give your skin some time- at least a month- for it to adjust to the new regimen.

Hope this helps- good luck!
