Makeup & Skincare/Sensitive eyes makeup

I've never worn a lot of makeup - even to work or on special occasions. Recently, whenever I do use eye makeup, I notice a lot of eye irritation the morning after - redness, stinging, sometimes even a stye. I already use Clinique mascara and removal liquid that is supposed to be hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive eyes; I use clean brushes and watch the product shelf life. What else should I be doing/using to prevent this eye reaction?
Thanks for your insight.

ANSWER: Hi Yuliya-

Sorry you are having this problem. It sounds like you are very
proactive in doing all the right things.

Are you taking your make-up off before you go to bed?
- this is important to if you don't already
Is your mascara waterproof?
- sometimes the agents that make it waterproof irritate eyes
Have you changed mascara's lately?
-maybe it is just the product
What are you using to take off the make-up with?
i.e. washcloth? Cotton balls?
- if you are using a washcloth, have you changed
 detergents lately?

This might be a good place to start. If the irritation is only
happening when you take off your makeup, you may want
to try other products and discontinue the use of what you
are using.

QUESTION: Thank you Nicole,

I am already following these steps. I was wondering if there are specific brands, besides Clinique, that might work for sensitive eyes. I'd appreciate your suggestions.

If you don't wear a lot of make-up, mascara is a great
Product to wear. This helps brighten your eyes without
eye shadows. If you are having irritation stop using the
product. It's just that simple. Maybe you are allergic to that
brand. Even though it says hypoallergenic doesn't mean
you are automatically going to not have any problems. I would
test out other brands. Also, make sure you are not using
waterproof. The agents that makeup waterproof sometime
irritate the eyes.

If this doesn't work maybe try a different eye makeup remover.
