Question
Dear Diana, I am 43 years old and as of lately I'm having problems with my skin.  Mostly on my lower chest & the middle of my back, upper neck and shoulders. I've been breaking out. I, also have little raised bumps that I can't help picking. Could you tell me what I should do or what products to use? Is salicylic acid a good choice? I feel depressed because of this.  I, also have hyperpigmentation on my chest and the front of my shoulders. I never had this problem until this past summer. Please help. Looking forward to your answer. Sanlyn

Answer
HI Sanlyn,
how are you? This is actulaly caused by a hormone inbalance, that occurs when you reach your forties.Try takin a vitamin B complex, and also vitmain A.

Seconldy use a good exfoliator to get rid of the dead skin cells, this wil help to eliviate the problem. You are experiencing adult acne.

DO not use salicylic acid, as it just causes a roller coaster affect!

I am going to give you some tips and products suggesitons below. I am also going to suggest that you get yourself a back facial.

Please get back to me if you have any questions
sincerely
Diana Dudas G.C.H.S.R.H.

ACNE PRONE SKIN

This is a common problem for those that have a tendency for their skin to be oily. What happens is that the dead skin cells, fall into the open pores, this then blocks the pores and creates bacteria build up, and thus causes  pimples.
It is of vital importance that you  keep your skin exceptionally clean at all times and use products that will draw impurities out of your pores and then seal them closed at the same time. If the acne is on your back, you need to make sure that never re-wear the same item of clothing without washing first.

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN:

1 It is important to cleanse, tone and hydrate daily (be careful not to use moisturizers, as they will clog the pores)
2 Use all natural products, that do not contain prescription or non prescription chemicals, as this will lead to a roller coaster ride of acne breakouts. Using natural ingredients will create a balance, that will give you better looking skin and a long term cure of acne.
3 Use a non-abrasive exfoliator and purifying masque twice weekly (great for back facials)
4 If you suffer with back acne, go to your local beauty salon and get a back facial
5 Avoid, CAFFEINNE, Hot, spicy or fried foods. And also Citrus Fruits
6 Drink lots of water( about ½ your weight in water every day)
7 Eat lots of veggies and avoid processed foods.
