Question
Hey ..i want to shoot a feature like an 80 min film. However i want to use a  mini dv as i can not even think of affording anything else...is it possible. Also will it be better if i convert it into black and white. Please let me know. Thanks.

Answer
It is my belief that what causes most low budget produtions to fail are poor audio and poor script.  So the way to approach your situation is to ask yourself will using a mini-dv camera give you enough to overcome not having enough money for audio or a good script.

You will suddenly see that the camera must drop down to third on the list of priorities.  Therefore whatever camera you use may not matter if you first don't have a good audio, and a good script.

Please refer to past topics for in depth explanations about low budget film and video production.
