Subject: best camera for short film making
Question dear smith,
i m a short film maker from india. i want to know which mini dv, camcorder or any other camera can give me next to 35mm or 16 mm quality.i m a beginner so price is also a concern. ill be glad if u can help.
thank you
regards allyson patel
Answer Hi Allyson,
I have answered this question in detail before, so for more specifics, look up some of the older camera questions. Basically High Definition (HD) cameras are what you need. 3-chip cameras will have much better quality than 1-chip but they cost more. There are different types of HD, and I am not sure what format India uses... I'm sorry. But the Panasonic DVX200 is very good.
As I always say, it's less about the camera and much more about your movie content. The better the camera, the better the image, of course, but if you have a good story or documentary idea - that's terrific. On the other hand, a good camera never saved a bad movie or a bad idea;)
Hope this helps... check out other answers about camera questions for more specific details.
