Question is there a word for the phenomenon of the bubbling and melting at the end of
the film? thank you!!!!!
Answer Usually bubbling and melting, when it happens, would happen where a splice has previously been made in the film and has now come apart. Bubbling and melting can also occur if a film projector goes into single frame mode but is kept too long on a specific frame or is kept in the slow motion mode for too long. Bubbling and melting is a bad thing and can even lead to fire if the film of a certain chemistry.
As for giving it a name, ironically, dissolve probably works.
