Question I have an idea for a TV show how do I start the process to make it a reality?
Answer Hi Nia,
That's a loaded question. It's hard to answer in just one post.
First, I'd start with a TV spec script and make all of your friends and family read it. Once you have a solid idea of what others honestly think about your project, then you can start talking to professionals in the industry. You can find professional filmmakers by attending industry happy hours in your area or looking online social networking sites (like how you found me). Once you have a solid cast/crew/network interested in your project, then I would ask them to help you shoot a pilot. Once you have the pilot, then you can upload it to a video hosting site like YouTube, promote it and create a following/fan club. Then network TV will see the response from the public and want to get your show on their channel.
