Question
I knew that you are in Malaysia for many years, so you are familiar and know much info about this country. I have been graduated from U of K in 2005, electrical and electronic engineering. Now I am working in as a senior instruments and electrical technician in SPPC as a contractor in Petrodar Operating Company, my work is mainly in the pipelines pumping station, sorry for writing a lot and missing your time.

What I want is to come to Malaysia and take some short courses (not more than 4 weeks), my problem is that I do not know good technical institutes in Malaysia, the subjects that I recommend for learning:

-         Instrumentation

-         Control systems (PLC,DSC,SCADA,…)

-         Power systems (Generation and distribution)

-         Any electrical subjects related to pipelines industry

-         Electrical standards (IEC,NEC)

I know that you may be busy but they told me that you are very helpful.

I want a good plan and budget so I want to know the costs of the tickets and how I can get the Visa, the good institutes and learning programs and their costs, if the institutes have websites Pls send them..

Again the most important issue is the budget, plan, and the courses to be less than 4 weeks due to my leave period, because I am working back to back.

I want to tell you also that I am always caring about details, so more details is better for me.

Thank you for your time, hope to hear from you soon

Yours Awadelrahman

Answer
Hi Awadel Rahman,

Sorry for the late reply.

Most colleges in Malaysia do not offer 4 weeks part time short courses to working people like you. They usually have master degree courses for full time(2 years usually) or part time students (3 years usually).

You may want to try writing to University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur whether they have such short courses that you are looking for. The URL of the University is:

http://www.um.edu.my/

All the best.
