Question Good day! My friends and I will be going to Kuala Lumpur on August 16-19, 2008. We will be staying at Corona Inn Hotel. We chose this hotel because according to the information on the internet, it is in the middle of petronas tower, KL Tower and chinatown. How far is the petronas tower from our hotel? Can we just walk going there? How about the distance of KL Tower and Chinatown from our hotel? We are also planning to visit Merdeka Square, Central Market and Sultan Abdul Samad Building. In the internet, I saw that it is near the Chinatown. However I would just like to know if we could go there by just walking or we really have to ride a cab? Another thing, is it safe going around Kuala Lumpur at night, let say until 11 pm? Thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon.
Answer Hi Sharon Joyce,
Gee whizz you really picked the right person to answer this. I know the Corona well.Stayed there many times.Got fed up finally with no hot water except first thing in morning(about) 6.30am for an hour or so, then they turned the power off, many of the power ponts in the room don't work, the air con was not good sn d the doors were not sound proof.
Now if you can get your money back or have not paid any try http://www.replicainn.com I am not an agent, I get no commission but you can get a standard queen bed there from 108RM according to their website now. When you click on the rates pick Bukit Bintang. It is in the best position.Literally 50 metre to the main street and every main shop in Bukit BinTang and food stalls everywhere and right at your door night time about a hundred food stalls. Safe walking around there..Betterr thaqn getting 2 and fro from Coroana in Jalan Tong shin, 300 meters further away.
I give you the managers personal email michael@replicainn.com tell him the Aussie from Kuala Terengganu.
China Town is a 12 minute walk, or you can use mono rail to get to all them. But get a Taxi and insist on the meter, or even with the fuel increase 5 to no more than *rm to any of those places. KL Tower see if you can get your tickets, they are free early.
if you get the chance gou out to Putra Jaya the goverrnment area, well built and a good boat ride.
Hope that helps.
Not back in Malaysia until Tuesday. If you want name of honest copy watch man in china town let me know
