Question
hi, i want to go to malta for a 3 night break in november (13th-16th) i wanted to know if euros are used in malta? how much a meal would cost? how much the club entries are and drinks? what the bus fares are? what the temperature might be? and finally how much do you think i should take for spending. i know there are loads of questions but im taking my boyfriend away for his birthday and want to be fully prepared?

Answer
Hi emma

yes the euro is the national currency here.
a meal - a pizza and a bottle of wine would cost you about Eur35 (for 2) if you go for an a la carte meal ie starter and maincourse you will need to budget for about Eur25 each, depending on the restaurant.
a bus ride to any destination is about Eur0.50 (per trip). they are quite cheap compared to other countries.
temperate is still warmish during the day but you'll need a pullover or cardigan for the evenings.
AS regards to spending money i would make sure you have a minimum of Eur400 for 2. i think you should always have a credit card as back up though. don't know what your plans are but when you're on holiday one tends to spend lots here and there.
as regards to clubs, not sure what entrance fees are like these days as it's not my scene anymore but nothing extraordinary. drinks in clubs would cost about Eur3 i would say but they are cheaper from surrounding bars.
spending is not so easy to say as different people have different standards but i think with the above figures you should be ok.
