Malta - Weather and Events In May

Expert: Michelle Grech - 11/18/2008

Question
Hi Michelle

I am going to Malta through all of May 2009 and will be there also for the first 2 weeks of June. I was wondering how hot it will be? Will it be warm enough to swim? What are the chances it will reach 30 degrees Celsius? (I like the warmer weather!)
Also what events are on at this time of year? Are there any large events or festivals that you think would be worth attending? Will there be any feast days?

Thanks you so very much

Corinne

Answer
Hi Corinne
Yes the weather would have warmed up although not extremely as it would be in July and August. The sea would still be fresh but the sun that awaits you after a swim will make up for it. It might reach 30 degrees by then but might still be a bit fresh in the evenings.

By then the festas (town and village religious celebrations) would have started and there is always something going on in summer. try www.visitmalta.com or google malta events and you should find out more.

sorry can't go into too much details but i'm in morocco on holiday at the moment so i'm a bit limited with time.

Hope you manage.

Michelle
