Malta/relocation for retirement

Question
Hi Michell,
I am thinking of retirement on Malta. Could you possibly provide me with more details of law regulation? Fortunately I am  EU citizen and I want to buy a property. What kind of property do you have (freehold or leasehold)? Shell I obtain some permission to buy an apartment? I would like to stay in Malta for most of year. Do I must have a permit to stay the resident. Perhaps having own property would be enough? How about the health care. I have been told that is free of charge. Thank you for help.
best regards
Robert

Unfortunately I am not an expert on this subject however i believe that you will find most of the information you need by going to this site:

www.cc-advocates.com/immigration-law/malta-permanent-residence.htm

as a european citizen it would be very easy to relocate here but there are still some regulations to abide by.

this site:  www.sahha.gov.mt/pages.aspx?page=184  should tell you all you need to know about health care for eu citizens.

hope this helps
