Me and my husband are South African residents, but are studying in Sweden with a temporary Swedish residence permit.  Will we be able to visit Malta with this visa?  Thank you!

Answer
Yes.  As you are in possession of a valid Schengen visa (Sweden is in the Schengen area) you can travel freely within the area without the need of further visas. This is the official response of the consultant lawyer for an advisory scheme financed by the European Commission.
