Malta/Spending Money

Question
Hi there,

I am looking to spend some time in Malta during the peak summer season next year. I have my dual passport as I am of a Maltese background and would like to holiday for one month and work for one or two months.

How much money will I need to budget per day? I am staying with family so I will only need money for food, entertainment and buses/transport.

Thanks so much,
Corinne

Answer
Hi Corinne

let's start with the simple one, transport. buses are very cheap here every trip will cost you about 0.50c (eur).
eating for the sake of eating ie not going to a restaurant can also be quite cheap but to get an idea a simple meal in a restaurant eg a salad or pizza/pasta and water - will cost you about Eur10. re entertainment, depends what you like, a film at the cinema costs Eur7, a beer about Eur2.
As a rough measure i think that you need to budget for an average of between Eur10 to Eur15 a day. this will afford you no luxuries but the very minimum to get by.
Hope this helps.
