Question Hello Michelle, my 17 year old daughter is on Gozo from 4th July 07. She is staying in Xlendi in an apartment (owned by George Grech, any relation?). After a 4 day diving course she is working for the Nature Trust Malta in Dwejra as a volunteer as part of her experience for University (Bio-chemistry & marine biology). Evenings & weekends will be free so is looking for further voluntary work of any sort. She is there for 3 weeks. Any advice would be welcome. Many thanks.

no relation to george grech. grech is a very common surname on the island and there's quite a few of us around!
if i were your daughter i would spend my weekends and free time diving with the dive school she's doing her course with. its good to gain experience by logging in as many dives as possible after the course and gozo is a great place to do this.
i'm sure this is going to be a lovely experience for her. i am familiar with the project as i am quite involved with nature trust myself. i also love the diving in gozo and spend most of my weekends in summer diving there. i definitely recommend she spends her weekends diving. don't know what additional volunteer work she can do but i'm sure nature trust themselves will fill her time if she volunteers it.
