Hi
I was wondering were would be best to stay in Malta with a 5 year old, i have read on the Internet about Malta but nothing really makes me feel its child friendly. We would really like to visit Malta but would like to stay in an area were children are catered for ,i have found an apartment in St Julian but no pool and not to sure if his is the area for us any information gratefully received .
Thank You
Kerry

Answer
Hey Kerry sorry for the late reply,

There are lots of things for children to do all over the place in Malta, such as the Marine Park, Splash n Fun Park or the Popeye village. Most of these attractions are located towards the north of the island, near some of the tourist centres such as Mellieha, Bugibba or Qawra. Mellieha is quieter, with a few hotels and a sandy beach, perfect for children. It is also fairly near the splash n fun park, and the popeye village. Bugibba is rather more noisier, and the same with Qawra, but both are located near various attractions.

St Julians where you looked for an apartment is Maltas nightlife capital. Its very built up - so the lack of space could be why you didnt find a pool. However it is in a great location. Only thing is, its a long way from any nice beaches. Theres a small one 'St Georges' but due to being in the nightlife centre, its rather overcrowded and littered much of the time.

So all in all I would advise Mellieha. Also take a look at Sliema, Bugibba and Qawra.

Enjoy your holiday!
