Question Luci- how do you feel about the pad training? So many people I know have their Maltese go on the pads and not really go outside at all. I like the pads for convenience as I do not want to go out walking several times a day. Also- I am house training my 12 week old pup and was told he has to much space in my laundry room. I have both newspaper and pads down and he goes wherever he wants. He also sleeps there at night. Do you think this is a good strategy or do you think the crate method works better?
Answer Personally i favour this strategy although all people have different experiences and will advise differently.
I would put a few pads down eventually move them closer to the door so it makes him walk further to them.
your pup wil;l get the hang of it.
But i would advise to thourghly clean the areas with odour remover where he has been before especially carpets as the smell attracts them back and it may turn into a habit.
