Question QUESTION: I just purchased a Maltese and have the luxury of being able to bring it to work during the day as both my wife and I work. However, with respect to potty training and letting the dog find her “spot” is that necessarily a good thing as she will have two spots – one at home and one at work. Also, does it make sense to purchase a second crate to be used at work or will that confuse her? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
ANSWER: oh thats so brilliant being able to take your dog to work lol i bet your inseperable!!
I dont believe that it is going to confuse her having two spots she will just associate each spot with each place just make sure that if she has an accident you correct her ie placing her in the proper place.
its up to you regarding the other crate, it may make her feel safe secure i her own territory but a basket may be sufficient.
Do you have an office where she stays with you?
if so just make sure she doesnt get dominant over it by leting her view other areas of your work a walk round etc.
Good luck

QUESTION: In your experience would you recommend indoor or outdoor potty training. Although we have a large backyard we live in the New York suburbs where it gets cold during he winter. I have started her on an outside regiment (3 days) but am rethinking the idea of doing it indoors.
Answer its entirley up to you but i live in the cold uk lol and believe me when your pup is EVENTUALLY trained to go to the toilet out doors during the winter months it gerts to the point where you just say to pup do you wanna go out?
n you open the door and they trot out not far from the door do their thing n then rush back in again lol. To me this is smooth n they have a routine mine only goes out around 3 times a day when they get older it just becomes a routine.
in and out lol. When mine goes out n its rainin lol oh youd think it was rainin acid he hates it he runs straight in after he has been to the toilet.
Its up to you though but when she is trained i do think youll find it easier but many do train for indoors.
Good luck
