Answer Puru, here my thoughts..................................................................
Q1: sorry I don't know Diana Neelman's work
Q2 advantage: keep jobs, speed up local economy, national regulation, national monopoly
Q2 disadvantage: missing international competition due to monopoly (motor for quality and price), export => due to stronger $, other countries will buy less from the US
import => international partners will be unhappy of this rules, therefore export less to US and also invest less in US market
Q3: IBM and GE, train there people well and want to be 100% in line with regulations: therefore those people will have practical understanding of regulations, know rules %26 regulations plus both companies are best at processes and value chain management
Q4: yes. discrimination happens when you are best qualified for a job (which this person most probably is) but don't get it due to your e.g. gender, religion, race, etc.
Q5: generally speaking I would say that every business area needs to change in order to adapt to everyday challenges. At best I'd say that business which is being discontinued doesn't need a transformational leader.
Q6: this seems to be a personal example, you should answer it directly for yourself.
Q7: communication is what should assure formal and informal everyday guidance, consistency in activities and clarity throughout the organization. The challenge lies in the right quantity and the right content of information (especially in todays overkill of data/information). Understanding the process might help to assure that.
Q8: all of this are normally team activities, where your individual contribution needs to benefit the greater purpose of the team. Same is true at work.
Q9: Leaders inspire and motivate people. While controllers are felt to hinder and supervise people... that's not inspiring and seen as negative. So both might get publicity but the great leader will eventually be used as a role model.
Q10: not sure if rehabilitation is the right word here. Anyway looking after your employees, even when downsizing it's always the right thing to do. Your actions in hard times will be remembered in good times. And you will need good people in good times, so you don't want to be remembered as the company who just got rid of people and/or treated them bad.
