Expert: Ernesto Gomes - 10/30/2009

Question
Dear Sir
I have a question in Strategic Management i am also giving my answer to it for your kind review.  Kindly read the question and my answer and correct me if i am wrong and give me hints to make my ans better.

Question:  “To deliver high-quality, flexible and innovative solutions that are cost effective and conducive”.

Above mentioned statement is a “part of a mission statement” of a telecom company. After reading it, you are required to analyze it carefully and mention that which particular component of a mission statement this given part refers to. Support your answer with logic.

Answer:
i think its "TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION" because with the help of technology &  innovation  we can provide the high quality products which are cost effective and favorable products to the customers.

Answer
Hello Yasser,

reading the statement, It remembers me of many slogans from IT and telecommunication companies. Your answer seems valid to me... still, I would rather argue, that this refers to the "products %26 services / value" part of the mission statement, that the company uses when advertising its solutions to business customers (the same message is not as relevant for consumers).

Logic behind that:
- It's rather companies (vs. consumers) that are looking for solutions, flexibility, innovation and especially cost efficiency.
- Consumers normally don't have the knowledge to validate the truth of such statements, while companies do.
- Consumers mainly look for: commodity, cheap, simple, etc.

regards E.
