Discuss the need importance of coordination. Why is it considered the Essence of Management?
While working in team or in a group, the one thing which always mark its presence is the coordination. Coordination develops the feeling of care, respect and value within self.
It helps in learning the importance of work which others do in the team. Nobody is perfect in every section and s/he would require someone's support at any point of time while working. No matter how expert you are in your domain but you would definitely require someone's support while performing.
Coordination helps in understanding the value of time and increases credibility in the resources. The support, help or supervision whichever is required while working comes from coordination and it has been proved from different surveys that a team which believes in coordination grow tremendously.
Team coordination is required in any kind of work where more than one person is working, so no matter if you are 2 or 200, coordination should always be there.
Lets take an example of circus where the gymnasts jump from one rope to another holding the hands of each other, a simple glitch in timing and he would loose balance.
This is true in any sector, domain or field.
Now-a-days the organizations are also trying to help the employees boosting the spirit of coordination and thus they organize different events for team building and team outing which develops the flavor of coordination among the mates. Considering the importance of team coordination, different management gurus and mentors have started giving training and lectures to develop the skills and habit of coordination. Many organizations believe that the coordination among the team mates have help them grow enormously and thus it has an essence of management. Team leads and managers are being taught and trained to develop the coordination among their subordinates and also they are encouraged to lead by example. Managing a team is not possible without having feeling of care and respect of work done by others. One must have a feeling that the work which is done by his/her colleague is equally important to what s/he does and this spirit develops the respect for others which in turn helps in streamlined processes and the end result is proper management and growth.
