Question hey... i've got a little problem here...
the thing is that im a student of eleventh grade and am appearing for my International Papers after only 3 months. that means i have a lot of course to cover! the thing is that i can't study in the morning or afternoon at all. i don't know why but there's this thing with me that i can't concentrate on anything during these times. the only time at which i really can study is late at night, say from 12-3a.m! now here's my question, does this have any effect on my brain? like, ive heard that people who study late at nights donot actually capture anything and eventually get low grades. in my case i think im a good student and yet this problem is worrying me b/c every night i sleep late and thereafter i have to appear at school the next day (the same day infact!!!) at 8 a.m till 2.00p.m! don't know wat to do. i hope this isn't disastrous for my brain development or anything!?!?! OR IS IT?
Answer Hi Hira;
Well, I am not a doctor, so it is hard for me to tell you from a medical standpoint, but I can tell you what I know about the subject. I hope it helps!
Everyone has certain times of the day or night that are considered to be there 'peak' times. During this time, they are at their highest energy level, learn the easiest, concentrate the best and can manage to accomplish more than any of time of the day or night. You seem to have been able to find your peak time, so I would say that is a good thing. As long as......
You are still getting a good 8 hours sleep a night and eating nutritious food full of all of the right vitamins and minerals. If you have all of that right, you should be in good shape.
Your body grows and needs the energy that is supplied to it from the food and it needs the rest to make the body function at top levels. So, your brain shouldn't be harmed in any way. A matter of fact, since you know that you have accomplished what you needed to do, I would think that it would rest easier, thus preventing ulcers and a ton of other stress factors.
So, as I said, it is only my opinion with the little knowledge that I have on the subject. But, I do read every medical article I can get my hands on, so it is from the experts themselves that I am repeating the information.
