Question
i have this presentation to do nxt wk about this topic-a girl is in a stressful situation where she has lots of work to do on the same day.before the day,she promised one of her sci grp partner that she will discuss with them about their sci project the nxt day.her teacher suddenly comes and declares that she will take her friend's place in the inter-school debate competition as she was currently sick and they will be practicing on the nxt day too.on that night she thought back that she promised her sci grp members that she will be participating in their grp discussion about their project which was due the following week but she also agreed to practice with her debate friends which happened to be on he same day and time.she also has'nt revised for her two tests which is on the next two weeks and she also hasnt done her homework.her schedule 4 the following wk was packed.and so,i want to ask, what do you advise her if u were to be her counselor?

Answer
Hi, thanks for writing.  It looks as if this person has committed to a lot of things in a short period of time.  Let me give a few suggestions: 1. make a schedule for each day and prioritize each item.  If something doesn't have to be done immediately, or if it is a lower priority, it should be postponed in favor of doing a higher priority.  2. Remember there is a difference between urgent and important.  A long term important item may not be urgent, but still should be worked on to avoid it becoming a last-minute emergency.  On the other hand, some things may be urgent, but are a lower priority, and should be eliminated.  3. Prioritize A-vital, B-important, C-some value, and D-waste.  Eliminate the D's, postpone the C's, do what B's one can, and do all the A's.  The A's are normally underscheduled, so they all can be done, and the B's overscheduled so that what time is left can be filled with important things.  As a result of prioritizing, say no to what is not a high priority.  4. Do not neglect proper sleep and nutrition.  5. Get an early start on the A's that require a lot of work, although they may not be urgent.  Avoid cramming.  Hope this helps some.  Write anytime.
