I was reading Jill's question about Barry's first time at the Hollywood bowl and I think there's something weird about this, because last saturday I went to the HB in the afternoon to pick up my ticket(lucky me, I could hear him rehearsingˇˇ) and I was looking at some charts they have at the entrance about the HBowl history, including the artist names and the decades they performed at this venue, and, yes, Barry Manilow is on it in the 80's; weird, right??well, never mind , it was a great show, he & the orchestration sounded beautifullyˇˇhe looked so happy and full of energyˇˇ

Thank you for contacting me through All Experts.  That is great you got to attend Barry's concert at the Hollywood Bowl this past Saturday.  I would have loved to be there, but it didn't work out.  As for an explanation as to why Barry's concert this past weekend was billed as his first-ever concert at the Hollywood Bowl, it is my understanding that he may have appeared at the Hollywood Bowl along with a group of other artists in the 1980's.  However, the concert Barry did at the Hollywood Bowl on 10/24/2009 was his first solo appearance at that venue.  I hope this clarifies the situation.  Also, there was a segment on Entertainment Tonight this evening regarding his Hollywood Bowl concert.  Barry looked and sounded fabulous!
