Manilow, Barry - Barry's staff and his role in setting up concerts

Expert: Linda Quick - 10/12/2006

Question
I have two questions, and I hope that they make sense.

1.  What kind of staff does Barry have that he can give orders to?  What positions are there for Barry's personal staff (those who tend to him personally)?

2.  Does Barry take on all of the roles (producer, director, casting, auditions, conductor, etc.) when setting up a concert and during his Las Vegas show?

3.  Does Barry have any say in any of his shows, such as, how the lights are, what color they are, you know, all the technical stuff that is involved?

Answer
Hi Connie, Well, first of all Barry"s staff consists of Garry Kief who"s been his personal manager for 25 years now. And theres Marc Huelett who"s Barry"s assisant. Marc handles all of Barry"s mail etc. While Garry  handles all of Barry"s personal appearances weather there on stage in an arena or on The Tonight show. Now as far as Barry"s Vegas shows go Barry does have say in the lighting and the music . I hope this helps answers your great questions. And as always thanks for using all experts . Linda
