Subject: food safety

Question
Do you know of any international certification bodies as SGS that observe and audit/certify food production facilities for food safety?

Answer
Sorry Mike, no experience in the food industry except to consume the product. It's always been my (perhaps erroneous) assumption that individual nations handled such things through their own bodies or agencies (FDA, etc.) There may or may not be treaties, etc., which grant reciprocal recognition of approvals.
