Question
Hi, I am have started my journey on researching how to start an hair care product line. Hopefully if successful I would like to start an distribution company receiving products from china. But for now I am needing to know when searching for a manufacturing company to help in the development of a product line.
How do you find the best company for your business?
What should I watch out for?
What type of questions to ask.
What do you think is better contract manufacturing or private labeling?

Thanks so much,
Shana

Answer
A contract manufacturing may be a good starting point. You need to test your product against allergic reactions and irritations along with what production processes are needed to product your product. A contract manufacturer can help you with this for a fee as well as assist in distribution, but you have to sell the product to stores and outlets. A contract manufacturer can put your label on your product. To set up your own production may not be economical if your product requires critical blending and care as well as large volumes.

Good Fortune
