Manufacturing - SMT Chip Shooter

Question
I have a Sanyo TCM-3500Z Chip shooter that constistantly has PEC recognition errors.  I am hitting the reset button like the manual tells me to but it stops for another PEC error on the next board.  I've tried everything to try and fix this, even bringing in a specialist who couldn't figure it out.  You were a great help before, do you think you can help me here?

Answer
When a PEC recognition error occurs during automatic operation and the Reset button is pressed, there will be a "PEC Manual Alignment" display that will appear on the screen.

A crossline appears on the recognition monitor.  At the center of the crossline, a fiducial mark having the shape and size of somilar to the actual fiducial mark also appears.  Part of the mark outline may be omitted, depending on the type of a fiducial mark.

The X/Y table must be moved to the position where the actual and displayed fiducial marks overlap eachother at the center of the crossline.  This is a Manual Alignment Operation.

Select one of the direction keys to determine the direction in which the X/Y table is moved to the position where the actual fiducial mark can be located at the center of the crossline.  Then, select one of the SPEED keys (High, Low, Pulse).  The X/Y table keeps on moving as long as the MOVE button is kept pressed.

Change the direction of the X/Y table movement and repeat manual alignment operation to move the X/Y table until the actual fiducial mark is located at the center of the crossline.

After the completion on manual alignment operation, press the SET key.  The AUTO OPN. MODE <PLACEMENT> display should appear on the screen.

When the START button is pressed, automatic operation should restart.

Pressing the SET key is validated only once after manual alignment operation is completed.  If the SET key is pressed early, a placement position error occurs.  When placement position deviates from the correct one, press the SYS CLR button to inturrupt automatic operation.  Perform zeroing operation.  Then select the SEMI-AUTOMATIC OPERATION key at the "AUTO OPN. SUB-MENU" display and follow the procedure requires for full automatic step operation.  After that, restart the operation and you are good to go.

Hope this helps!
