Question
I read recently, that a car had been manufactured entirely of plastic in the United States recently. I am interested in how far plastic mouldings or other applications of plastics are utilised in such processes. What are the scientific breakthrough's to enable this? are we close to a plsticised motor'aero industry? Can you help me please?

Answer
 Hi Nicholas ,

See plastics technology. They should have a web site. The manufacturing processes for reinforced plastics for automobiles varies.
It would take a book for me to explain to you the different methods and technology involved.
Thanks for sending me this question; but it is older technology and I am surprised you are just now finding out about it.
