Question
Hello Mr Peter,

I am an analyst with a business research firm and right now working on a report on Global Rail Transportation Industry. Regarding that I would like your help on certain questions.
- Major rolling stock manufacturer like Bombardier develop a lot of products based on platform. I assume that these manufacturers will not allocate the total cost of the platform development to the first project itself, but will arrive at a strategic price and allocate development cost to all future projects. Your view on this.
- In the railway transportation industry there is a high-lead time (2-3 years) for acquiring clients. Does this provide manufacturers like Bombardier and Alstom to fix high project cost by negotiating with the suppliers. Your opinion on this point.

It would great to have opinions from an expert like you.

Looking forward to your reply at the earliest

Thanks and Regards

Ajay Biswari

Answer
Dear Mr. Biswari:

Both of these questions, to be adequately addressed, would require some research.

We (CGR Management Consultants) are a supply chain transportation management consulting firm, and would be pleased to quote you a price on the research if requested.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Pete Crosby
