About Kenneth L Pratt
Expertise
Packaging Machinery. Application and repair of all brands of stretch wrap machinery including fully automatic units, most strapping machinery, tape machinery, and shrink wrap machinery. 35 Years experience in a variety of machinery maintenance and purchasing fields, 35 Years experience in equipment maintenance and specifying, including 13 Years experience specializing in packaging machinery application and service, primarily in the manufacturing/distribution environment.

Experience
I have attended industry school when available, but much of the equipment I deal with is undocumented and orphaned. Every day is a challenge to figure out how machinery is put together, and what can be done to counteract operator destruction and make it live again. I think that my ability to appreciate and communicate with the workers in a business is more important and satisfying than fixing machinery. My greatest accomplishment is probably avoiding death on the highway.

Question
the average malaysian middle class house usually has an electric water-heater unit and also one or several air conditioning systems. The air conditioning system rejects the heat to the atmosphere via the condenser unit. my job is to study the feasibility of using this waste heat to heat the water for bath and shower.. can u propose a design while consider among other things; the energy savings, cost penalty(the new system will be more expensive) and the recoup period. Can you list possible problems i had when replacing the present system with your design

Answer
Mr Salim,  I am sorry for the late reply.  My primary field involves packaging machinery.  I would suggest you contact someone in the thermal engineering field for this project.  Also an experienced HVAC technician would probably be useful.  I wish you success on this project.  It sounds like a very useful endeavor.  Ken Pratt.
