Question Our firm is a medium size firm Specialize in Mechanical technologies our products are Moulds & dies & spare part Manufacturing plus we provide training for other companies in our field. Number of employees around 200 (about 50 engineers the rest are technicians & administrators).
We are newly involved in machine & production line manufacturing , we serve in a local market ( not aggressive ) but we want to target a larger market in order to do that we wish to improve performance I mean by above average performance , above the local standards in ( north Africa) where time & quality are not a great factors in the process
any way thank you for your kind attention & I hope that Some improvements Can be made .
Answer Your question is very broad and would require a very lengthy interview and discussion period to even begin to try to get you and your company headed in the proper direction. Absent the ability to do that, I would suggest that you do the following to achieve the broad goals that you have established:
1. Develop a Mission statement that clearlt defines what you are committed to on behalf of your customers, shareholders and employees. Define very clearly what will differentiate you from your competitors. Understand what businesss you are in such as " adding saleability to your customers' products."
2. Develop a Vision statement that defines how you will accomplish your mission.
3. List the 10-12 core competencies that you will require to accomplish your mission and vision.
4. Evaluate on a scale of 1-10 the level at which you possess these competencies.
5. Then begin working on the shortcomings.
The above average success will come as yoyr company more fully develops all of the required competencies.
Good luck!
