Subject: knowing some important things on ship

Question
1. what are the difficulties that a cadet will face on board ship as his first sea career?
2. what are the things (i mean the knowledge) he should know before he leave for his class three upgrading course?

Answer
Dear Demelash,

1. First difficulty is sea-sickness. However, some people will not get it.
Secondly, he must be willing to do whatever work as an apprentice - clean toilets, mopping, cleaning carbon from machines, throw scrap food, follow orders and adapt to the way of life.
However, these should not be considered difficulties if he is open minded and adapt to the environment and new way of life.

2. I think he just need to remember what he has experienced in his sea time, so just remember the machines, data readings, operation manuals, etc, so that when he goes to course he will understand better. The practical experience and manuals are valuable.
