Question
Sir,
I am in the process of becoming a dealer for BOSCH range of power tools . But first i will be doing some trial orders.Also there,s already an existing dealer for the same make . What i want to ask you is when should i start my marketing ?..Since L be in the shop in the begining i wont be able to go to the industrial estates. One question thats bothering me is how can i market my product ( if i intend to do so ) before even starting my shop ?..I need your advice..

Answer
ANIL,

WHEN   WE  ANALYZE   YOUR  SITUATION,

-you   are  new  to  the  market.

-your  outlet  is  new  to  the  market.

-you  have  an  established  competitor  supplier
to  overcome.

-you  have  an  handicap --can't  move  out  initially.
=========================================
YOUR  OBJECTIVE   IN   THE  BEGINNING,

-you  have  to  create  an  awareness  in  the  market.

-you  have  to  maintain  a  sustained  image  in the  market.

-you   have  to  create  a  customer  service  facility
*online  booking
*phone  booking
*payment  on  delivery.
=====================================
ACTION  PLAN

-create  one  page  letter  drop--about  the  announcement
of  the  opening  of  the  shop  and  drop  it  at  all  the  outlets  in the  industrial  estate,
one   week  before   the  opening.

-develop   a  simple  website.

-develop  a  simple  catalogue, with  no  price  shown.

-offer  an  introductory   price [ good  discounts]  for  6 months.

-hire  temporary  hands  to   distribute  the  catalogue  at  all  nearby  industrial   estates.
THIS  SHOULD  BE  DONE  ONE  DAY  BEFORE  THE  OPENING
OF   THE  SHOP.

-insert  the  catalogue  in the  newspapers,  which  is  distributed by
the  local  distributors.

-for orders  online/ telephone, offer  free  delivery  for  the  first  12  months.

-with  the  permission  of  the  industrial  estate  managers,
hold  a  demo. session [ 4 hours]  of  your  range  of  products.

-the  catalogue  should be  letter -dropped  in all  units  of the
industrial  estates, every   2  months  to  sustain  the  pressure.

=====================================================
-review  the  prospect  of   ''onsite'' servicing   and
''offsite''  servicing  of  the  units.
=======================================
regards
LEO LINGHAM
