Question
Within the next 2-3 weeks I will be launching my new website business that comes with a difference to what we currently offer on the web today. My question is what is the best way to start marketing my website service and approach companies and businesses to show them what I have got to offer, plus it is also for the general public.

I am British and currently I live in England.

Answer
Adam,

Congratulations on taking the plunge!

Typically, with any product or service, you should first think of your target audience and then craft your marketing messages to their needs and wants.  Your marketing is something that should be nailed down before you launch the product or service.

Before I can answer this question in more detail, I need to know:

1. Did you do any marketing research before you started your new website business?

2.  Who is your target audience?  Who are you trying to serve?

3.  What specifically is your website business?

4. On your old website, did you track web traffic statistics such as number of visits, time spent on the site, popular search phrases, etc.?

5. What is the purpose of your site (e.g., e-commerce, information, entertainment, etc.)?

Adam, I'll be able to answer your question far more effectively if you can answer those questions.

Thanks,

Alex
