Question Thanks for your time. Recently my Jun Fan instructor and his friend keith( a Ju-Jistu practionar) was training. I was working on my elbow combinations. I love the spikes and elbows. My instructor was holding the Thai pads and has a shield on. I blocked his right punch and at the same time spiked him in the stomach. It must have dubbed him over cause when i went for my left elbow, i caught him in the head. It slashed his forehead open and bleed freely. I was amazed at what had happened and at how strong my elbows were. What would a elbow like that do to a persons skull on the soft spot or the back of the neck?
Answer Josh,
You just experienced what many Thai boxers have experienced many times: namely, that the elbow is a great "cutting" tool.
Personally I think that a good elbow to any anatomically weak spot on the human body would do a lot of damage.
Are you thinking that a downward elbow to the soft part of the skull might cause some brain damage? Or that to the back of the neck could result in vertebra damage?
I'm not a doctor or a "pressure point" practitioner so I can't say specifically but to sounds plausible.
But congrats (so to speak) on the development of your newest powerful tool!

Dwight Woods
P.S. Please don't practise what we talked about on your instructor, okay?
